Q: What do I need to get started?
A: Thats easy.

  • Complete our online enrollment form enrollment home.
  • Fill out and fax the Customer Service Agreement attached to your online quote request email. Attn: Enrollment Team (608)-268-2929
  • Once recieved our enrollment team will assist your through your first three payrolls to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your service.

Q: When will funds be pulled from my client’s account?
A: Funds will be pulled three business days before the check date.

Q: How will the payroll be delivered?
A: You select how the checks are delivered during enrollment, your options are:

  • Next Day Air to Employer: $14.00
  • UPS Ground to Employer: $6.95
  • US Mail to Employer: $4.95
  • US Mail Direct to Employee: $0.55/check 
  • Print my own checks: $0.00

Q: Can The Payroll Company handle sub-contractor pay?
A: Yes. The Payroll Company can process checks for sub-contractors with the client’s normal payroll processing and also generate Form 1099-Misc at year end.

Q: How many accounts can employees divide their pay into?
A: An employee can split his or her pay into as many as six different accounts.

Q: What is included in the Small Business Express service?
A: Our base service includes processing of payroll for 5 employees. A complete list of what is included can be found on the payroll service page at

Basic services are: Online payroll management system, printing of checks , transmittal of all withholding tax liabilities, filling all appropriate withhold tax forms, and assumption of liability for accuracy and timeliness of payroll. For more details, go to our payroll service web page.

Q: Will I have a dedicated payroll team? 
A: Yes. Our support team memebers are certfied by the American Payroll Association.

Q: What happens if my payroll is submitted late?
A: We understand things come up, our support team will work with you and make every reasonable effort to meet your payday. Contact The Payroll Company directly to coordinate delivery in these situations.

Q: What happens if I need to write a manual check?
A: You can do one of two options:
  1. Calculate manual check using the online system and report the manual check information back to The Payroll Company.
  2. Call The Payroll Company and our support team will help you calculate and distribute the manual check.

Q: How will I receive payroll reports?
A: Reports are delivered electronically as soon as the payroll is processed. An email is automatically sent to the client informing them that the payroll has been processed and their reports are available online. Authorized individuals can then download the reports to a locally installed, password-protected program called ViewChoice. ViewChoice stores the reports permanently and allows for easy retrieval, storage, and print-back. Electronic delivery minimizes waste and provides maximum confidentiality.

Q: Will I be responsible for filing any payroll tax forms or making any tax deposits?
A: No. The Payroll Company will make all necessary state, federal, and local payroll tax deposits on behalf of your client. The Payroll Company will also assume liability for the accuracy and timeliness of deposits and filings, giving the client peace of mind and an insurance policy against costly tax penalties.

Q: Who processes my client’s W-2 forms?
A: The Payroll Company will print and distribute all W-2 forms to the employer. The Payroll Company will also process form W-3.

Q: Do you handle new-hire reporting?
A: Yes. We file all necessary forms with the proper government agencies on the client’s behalf.

Q: Will my clients need to supply check stock?
A: No, The Payroll Company prints all checks and vouchers with our own check stock.

Q: Is there any software require to process payroll?
A: No, you access your payroll via a secure Internet connection.

Q: Can my clients print checks in their office?
A: Yes. To access this service, they must have MICR toner, a laser jet printer, and use special check stock.
